How To Add Photos To Your Google Business Profile
(same process for videos)
Adding Photos via Desktop
Once you login (how to login) to your Google Business Profile via your desktop computer, you’ll see the “add photo” icon. (Note: select “add photo” to add videos). After clicking it, you’ll see options. We’ll explore each option within the “add photo” module in this Chapter.
Add Photo Options
There are 3 “add photo” setting options available on desktop:
Photo. This link directs you to a “photo” drag and drop / upload screen (for photos and videos).
Logo. This link directs you to a “logo” drag and drop / upload screen.
Cover Photo. This link directs you to a “cover photo” drag and drop / upload screen.
Desktop Upload
You’ll see the screen illustrated after clicking one of the links from the previous section.

How To Add Photos To Your Google Business Profile Via Mobile
Add Photos Button
If logged into your Google Business Profile, via your mobile phone, you’ll see the “photos” button. The add photo (or videos) module is accessible within the “photos” section.
Add Photo From Photo Library
Click the “photo library” link to add photos (or videos) from your phone’s photo library.
The next few screenshots will show you how.
Select Photo
Select a photo (or video) from your mobile phone library (camera roll).
A blue check mark will appear on top of the photo selected.
Next, click the “Add” link on the upper right portion of the screen.
Publish Photo
You’ll see the photo (or video) you selected as illustrated.
Click the “Publish” link as shown.
Photo Uploaded
This screen confirms your photo (or video) has been uploaded.
Click the “see photos” button to view the photo on your Google Business Profile.
Published Photos
Published photos (and videos) are typically marked “pending”. You’ll see them added to your Google Business Profile after their pending status has changed.
Add Photo By Taking Photo
Google provides 3 options for adding a photo, (1) by selecting a photo from your phone’s camera roll or phone’s photo library (detailed in the previous screenshots), (2) taking a photo via your phone, and (3) choosing a file (detailed in subsequent screenshots).
To add a photo from your phone’s photo library, click the “photo library” link as shown.
Taking A Photo
You can add a photo to your Google Business Profile by taking a picture with your phone and adding it.
Add Photo By Choosing A File
Google provides 3 options for adding a photo (or video), (1) by selecting a photo from your phone’s camera roll or phone’s photo library (detailed in the previous screenshots), (2) taking a photo via your phone (detailed in the previous section) and (3) choosing a file.
To add a photo from a file library, click the “choose files” link as shown.
Add Photo From File
You can add a photo (or video) to your Google Business Profile by selecting one from a file.
Simply select one and click the “open” link located on the upper right portion of the screen.
Deleting A Photo
Photos or videos you and your team upload can be deleted by clicking the the dots at the top of the screen and selecting “Delete this photo”.
How To Properly Optimize Photos
Photos should meet the following guidelines:
Format: JPG or PNG
Size: 10KB to 5 MB
Resolution: 720px by 720px (recommended)
Resolution: 250px by 250px (minimum)
Quality: Well lit, in focus, realistic without significant alterations
Video should meet the following guidelines:
Duration: < 30 seconds
Size: < 75MB
Resolution: 720px >
GBP Business Showcase Video
Google may require a Business Showcase Video as part of the business profile verification process.
